Man Hacks Reverend Sister To Death In Rivers State To Avoid Paying Debt
A man named Kelvin Okoro has been arrested for allegedly murdering Reverend Sister Maureen Wecheonwu in the Aluu community of the Ikwerre local government area in Rivers State. According to reports, Okoro owed the deceased a large sum of money, and she had been persistently asking for repayment.
Sources revealed that Okoro lured the Reverend Sister to a location, under the pretense of being ready to settle the debt, where he killed her. Her lifeless body was later discovered in a pool of blood by local residents, who immediately alerted a local security team.
“What we heard was that he didn’t know how to repay the money. So he called the woman out in the guise of discussing the debt.
“The Reverend Sister has been complaining to people in the community that he refused to pay his debt. Not knowing his evil intentions, he took her to a lonely path and hit her severally with an object.”
Following the discovery of Reverend Sister Maureen Wecheonwu’s remains, locals began to question why they hadn’t seen Kelvin Okoro around, prompting a more thorough search by the vigilante group known as OSPAC.
According to sources, Vigilante Commander Kingsley Wali led a search team to Okoro’s hideout, where they apprehended him and later handed him over to the police. It was also revealed that Okoro had taken some of the deceased’s personal belongings.
The spokesperson for the State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident and stated that the investigation was ongoing.
“Yes I can confirm. The matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department,” she added.
