iPhone 17 Air Nearly As Thin As Its Buttons, New Images Reveal
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air is shaping up to be a strikingly sleek device, according to the latest dummy model images shared by leaker Sonny Dickson. Set to launch later this year, the 17 Air is expected to be just 5.5mm thick, making it the thinnest iPhone ever — even slimmer than its Pro siblings, which are rumored to be around 8.7mm thick.
Despite the ultra-slim profile, Apple is reportedly reinforcing the device with a titanium-aluminum chassis to prevent bending — a clear nod to the company’s desire to avoid another “bendgate” situation like the one that plagued the iPhone 6 Plus.

Originally intended to feature a display larger than 6.6 inches, Apple reportedly scaled it down to reduce flex risk and maintain durability. To keep the device as thin and power-efficient as possible, the iPhone 17 Air will likely feature:
A single rear camera, conserving internal space for battery.
eSIM-only support globally, eliminating the physical SIM tray.
Apple’s custom C1 modem, designed for efficiency and debuted in the iPhone 16e.
Despite the extreme slimness, battery life is expected to match that of current models, which would be a significant achievement in engineering.
Would you be into a super-thin iPhone like this, or do you prefer something with a bit more heft and camera versatility?
