Bob Lee’s Family Sues His Killer And Relatives For Conspiracy, Evidence Tampering
The family of slain Cash App founder Bob Lee has filed a lawsuit against his killer, Nima Momeni, and Momeni’s relatives, accusing them of attempting to destroy crucial evidence related to the murder.
Lee, 43, was fatally stabbed multiple times by Momeni near his home in San Francisco on April 4, 2023, and later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

The lawsuit, filed in San Francisco Superior Court, names Momeni, his mother, sister, brother-in-law, and several property management companies as defendants.
Lee’s family alleges that Momeni’s relatives attempted to sell the car he used to pick up Lee on the night of the murder and deleted key information from their cellphones to obstruct the investigation.
The lawsuit also accuses Portside Homeowners Association and Securitas Security Services of improperly releasing security footage showing Lee’s final moments as he staggered down the street bleeding. Lee’s family claims that this caused significant emotional distress to his two children.
The family is seeking unspecified damages for negligence, wrongful death, aiding and abetting, conspiracy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy.
Prosecutors allege that Momeni fatally stabbed Lee following an argument about Momeni’s sister and her drug use. Momeni, however, claims he acted in self-defense after Lee allegedly attacked him with a knife.
If convicted, Momeni faces a sentence of 16 years to life in prison, according to San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.
