A Russian drone attack has damaged storage facilities and an administrative building in Ukraine’s central Poltava region.

Regional Governor Volodymyr Kohut told national television on Friday that the affected facilities, belonging to Ukraine’s gas producer, contained spare parts used for repairing wells and processing facilities.

The Ukrainian air force reported shooting down 89 of the 163 drones launched overnight, noting that 51 likely failed to reach their targets due to electronic warfare countermeasures.

According to Ukraine’s general staff, the Russian military targeted civilian infrastructure and administrative buildings of oil and gas companies in Poltava.

“The Russian aggressor cynically continues to lie about its aspirations for peace, deliberately attacking civilian objects and endangering civilians,” it said.

Local authorities reported that the attack ignited fires across 2,500 square meters and damaged the business’s transformer.

The regional governor noted that the assault also caused damage to power lines, temporarily cutting electricity in parts of Poltava’s districts.

Meanwhile, the state emergency services confirmed that in the southern region of Odesa, drone strikes injured one person and sparked fires in private residences.
