2Baba Urges Immediate Intervention Over Ongoing Violence in Benue

Music icon 2Baba visited the violence-stricken Otukpo-Nobi community in Benue State, calling for an urgent, collective effort to end the persistent killings in the region.

Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, widely recognized as 2Baba, has denounced the persistent violence in Benue State. He labeled the recent assaults on villages within the Otukpo Local Government Area as intolerable. The artist visited the Otukpo-Nobi community on Wednesday, the site of a deadly raid on July 12, 2026, which claimed the lives of 10 people and caused various injuries.

Through a video posted on his Instagram account, 2Baba highlighted that the suffering of those in Benue is a shared burden, emphasizing the need for unity to tackle the region’s insecurity. While speaking with locals, the singer offered his condolences to those affected and appealed for a collaborative approach to halt the cycle of aggression. He remarked that the frequency of the bloodshed is no longer something that can be ignored or overlooked.

The musician stressed that while there is no instant fix, resolving the crisis requires a unified strategy involving the government and the community. He reiterated that the burden of safety cannot rest on a single individual and called for a collective effort to overcome the persistent threat of violence.
