Zamfara State Implements Digital Health Systems

Zamfara State has launched a digital health initiative aimed at improving hospital operations, data management, and patient outcomes under the direction of Governor Dauda Lawal.

The government of Zamfara State has introduced a new digital health program designed to enhance the quality of medical services throughout its hospitals and clinics. Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, the Commissioner for Health, unveiled the initiative at a stakeholder meeting in Gusau.

Dr. Maradun emphasized that shifting to digital platforms is essential for better disease tracking, efficient data handling, and informed policymaking. She stated that Governor Dauda Lawal remains dedicated to modernizing the healthcare sector to ensure the system is more responsive and durable for all residents.

While acknowledging past advancements, the Commissioner highlighted ongoing obstacles, including disconnected digital systems, a lack of technical skills among staff, and insufficient infrastructure. This initiative gathers experts, government representatives, and partners to evaluate existing progress and establish a clear strategy for future digital health development in the region.
