Governor Uba Sani’s initiative to improve local medical services has gained momentum with the Muslim World League scheduled to open a modern cardiac center in the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna South this Tuesday. Malam Tahir Umar Tahir, the head of the Kaduna State Interfaith Bureau, announced that Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary General of the League, will oversee the launch. This new center aims to provide specialized heart care and diagnosis, reducing the need for residents to travel abroad for treatment. The project is a joint effort between the state government and the Muslim World League, serving residents regardless of their religious background.
Since taking office, the Sani administration has focused heavily on healthcare reform, including upgrading all 255 primary health centers to level 2 status. Significant improvements have also been made to maternal and child health services, immunization programs, and the state’s health insurance coverage. Furthermore, the government is currently renovating general hospitals and upgrading diagnostic equipment to revitalize secondary healthcare.
The administration has also invested in its workforce by recruiting new medical professionals, offering better salary structures like CONMESS and CONHESS, and supporting the Medical Residency Training Fund to cultivate specialist physicians. This cardiac center serves as another major addition to the state’s medical infrastructure, following the recent opening of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital.
