Suleiman Abubakar Gummi, the lawmaker representing the Bukkuyum/Gummi Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, has raised a significant warning regarding the increase in bandit activity within the region. In a document issued to the press in Gusau on Monday, he characterized the current security climate as highly dangerous and demanded a stronger response from security forces.
Gummi noted that ongoing raids are endangering residents and their economic stability. While he is currently abroad on official business, the representative stated that he has been tracking reports of these attacks and forwarding critical intelligence to the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army to prompt immediate intervention.
The legislator praised the dedication of the security services under difficult conditions but insisted that they must implement better tactics to eliminate these criminal factions and establish stability. He pledged his ongoing support by providing logistical resources to aid their efforts. Finally, he asked the local population to remain vigilant, share relevant information with authorities, and continue hoping for a resolution to the conflict.
