Yobe Police Capture Two Kidnappers and Recover Stolen Livestock

Yobe police arrested two kidnapping suspects and recovered 26 stolen goats following the abduction of a village resident.

Law enforcement officials in Yobe State successfully apprehended two individuals linked to a kidnapping ring and secured 26 stolen goats in the Gujba Local Government Area. SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the police spokesperson, stated that the operation began after the abduction of Idi Musa from Kolmamaji Village on July 7, 2026.

The Gujba police division launched an immediate search after receiving reports that armed attackers seized the victim along with his motorcycle. By July 10, 2026, the victim managed to flee his captors and assist officers with essential details regarding the incident. Based on this information, police arrested 23-year-old Musa Damuna and 21-year-old Yusufa Muhammad Bello on July 11, 2026. While the goats were successfully retrieved, the suspects had already sold the victim’s motorcycle. Authorities are currently searching for additional syndicate members and intend to prosecute the two men currently in custody once the investigation concludes.
