FCT Minister Nyesom Wike stated on Friday that various opposition leaders are currently driving on infrastructure projects delivered by President Bola Tinubu, despite their own failure to implement similar improvements during their previous tenures. The Minister delivered these remarks while opening the Mabushi–Ahmadu Bello Way Link Roads in Abuja, an event held to celebrate the third anniversary of the Tinubu presidency.
Highlighting the administration’s commitment to widespread urban improvement, Wike noted the President’s explicit mandate to ensure every district in Abuja experiences tangible development. He reiterated his belief that road networks serve as the essential foundation for economic progress, pointing out that recent completions have already spurred residential growth and boosted local property values. Wike remarked that many housing projects in the vicinity would not exist without the new road access.
Addressing the political opposition directly, the Minister noted that individuals who previously held positions of power and neglected to build necessary infrastructure are now regular beneficiaries of the current government’s work. Wike jokingly promised to create a directory of these opposition figures residing in the area to highlight their reliance on the administration’s road network, noting that they no longer travel by helicopter but instead utilize the roads built under Tinubu’s leadership.
