VeryDarkMan questioned by DSS regarding leaked coup trial video

Social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse was questioned by the DSS after Justice Joyce Abdulmalik ordered a probe into a leaked video related to the ongoing coup trial against President Tinubu’s administration.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has interrogated social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, concerning a video that appeared online linked to an active coup conspiracy case. This action was initiated following a directive from Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja, who ordered an investigation into the unauthorized public disclosure of private court materials.

The footage in question was part of the evidence used against individuals charged with attempting to unseat President Bola Tinubu. During sessions on June 23 and 24, 2026, the Director of Public Prosecutions, Rotimi Oyedepo, notified the court that the video had been shared on social media by VeryDarkMan, which ignored a prior judicial mandate limiting the circulation of such evidence.

Following his release, VeryDarkMan described the experience, noting he spent several hours at the DSS headquarters before returning home at 2 a.m. He confirmed that the questioning centered on the video he published four days prior.
