The Nigerian Army has taken two active-duty soldiers into custody regarding their unsanctioned presence at the wedding of content creator Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, and TikTok star Jarvis. The ceremony took place in Lekki, Lagos State.
Military insiders revealed that intelligence reports highlighted the unauthorized use of personnel at the celebrity event. The individuals arrested are Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi, both attached to the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital in Obalende, Lagos. They were taken into custody on Tuesday as officials began examining the situation to uncover potential broader involvement.
Online footage showing uniformed soldiers managing crowds and escorting guests at the wedding sparked public outcry. These videos raised concerns regarding the use of military personnel for private events. The Nigerian Army policy strictly prohibits troops from engaging in private security tasks or deployments that lack formal authorization.
A military representative confirmed that an inquiry is currently active to verify the extent of the breach and to determine if further disciplinary measures are required for any involved parties.
