Under the reported framework, Israeli forces would pull out of the territory once the disarmament process concludes. This initiative is framed as part of the second stage of a ceasefire strategy mediated by the United States, which also prioritizes the rebuilding of Gaza.
Writing on Truth Social, Trump noted that this agreement functions as a cornerstone of his 20-Point Plan. The transition is expected to occur in stages, with an International Stabilization Force collaborating with a newly formed Palestinian police force to secure the area following the withdrawal of Israeli troops. While this board was previously viewed as a mechanism to address the ongoing conflict and reconstruction, its actual purpose has faced scrutiny, particularly as its charter does not explicitly reference the Palestinian territory and appears intended to replace specific UN roles.
The conflict escalated significantly following the October 7, 2023, attacks led by Hamas, which resulted in 1,200 deaths and 251 hostages taken. Israel’s subsequent military offensive has resulted in over 73,290 deaths, according to figures provided by the health ministry in Gaza.
