Tony Elumelu, the Chairman of Heirs Holdings, has officially highlighted Delta State as a prime location for business expansion. During the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit, he praised the administration’s progress and signaled his desire to partner with the state government to maximize its electricity production capabilities.
Elumelu noted that he has closely followed the state’s development, observing a rise in private sector projects like new housing estates. He characterized Delta as a welcoming and profitable environment for both domestic and international capital. The businessman emphasized that for the state to achieve true industrial growth, consistent power access is essential.
While acknowledging that Delta already possesses an installed capacity of approximately 1,000 megawatts, Elumelu pointed out that gas supply issues continue to hinder full operational output. He urged Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to foster a partnership with private entities to resolve these obstacles. By collaborating, Elumelu believes Delta could significantly improve its power reliability, making electricity more accessible and affordable for both local industries and citizens.
