Authorities in Bauchi State have taken three individuals into custody regarding the death of a man in Gwaram, Alkaleri Local Government Area. The police achieved this breakthrough when one of the suspects was caught operating the victim’s motorcycle.
SP Nafiu Habib, the police spokesperson, announced the news on Tuesday. The arrests stem from an active homicide investigation launched after a report was filed at the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters on March 7, 2026.
The initial suspect, Muhammad Umar, also called Jijji, was caught on June 19 while using the deceased’s vehicle. His testimony led officers directly to two additional suspects: 45-year-old Usman M. Gidado and 35-year-old Danladi Yakubu, both residents of Gwaram Town.
Law enforcement officials have secured the motorcycle as physical evidence. All three suspects are currently being processed by the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi to facilitate deeper inquiry into the crime.
