An armed group believed to be kidnappers abducted Funke Agbaje and two other individuals within the Agbaje community located in the Ala-Elefosan area of Idanre, Ondo State. The trio, consisting of two women and one man, were taken captive while performing routine labor at their farm settlement.
An anonymous source revealed that the captors have reached out to the victims’ relatives, insisting on a ransom payment of N5 million for every person held. The families have alerted both the Ala Police Station and the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, regarding the abduction. A family representative expressed deep distress, noting that the victims were engaged in their regular daily work when the incident occurred, and questioned how the families could possibly secure such a large sum of money.
Abayomi Jimoh, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed that the authorities are looking into the matter and will initiate an investigation.
