In an announcement released Saturday via his aide Gboyega Akosile, the Governor lauded the President and various military units for the operation that concluded a 55-day ordeal for those taken on May 15, 2026.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted the joint success of the Nigerian Army, Air Force, DSS, and the Police. He remarked that this mission signals a firm federal stance against criminal threats. Emphasizing his support for Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Sanwo-Olu noted that the safe return of the hostages brings renewed optimism to the South-West region and the families impacted by the incident.
