Performing the final routine of the women’s competition, Evans surpassed England’s Abigail Martin, who took the silver, while Welsh teammate Shantae-Eve Amankwaah earned the bronze.
This victory serves as a significant recovery for Evans, who was visibly emotional after placing sixth in the all-round individual event and finishing fourth in the team competition earlier in the week. Her gold follows a successful Monday for Wales, which saw twins Abigail and Emily Roper secure bronze medals.
