In an ongoing initiative to minimize traffic accidents and improve road safety, the Road Safety Officers’ Wives Association (ROSOWA) held an educational event at the Kuto Motor Park in Abeokuta, Ogun State, this past Saturday.
Mrs. Morenikeji Ogunjobi, the Chairperson of ROSOWA and wife of the Ogun Sector Commander, spearheaded the event. During her address to drivers, commuters, and other road users, she underscored the necessity of following traffic laws and exercising caution while on the road.
She explained that a vast majority of traffic collisions could be avoided if individuals followed safety protocols. The campaign specifically addressed dangers such as speeding, distracted driving due to mobile phone use, overloading vehicles, and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, the group highlighted the vital roles of wearing seatbelts and keeping vehicles in good mechanical condition.
The session involved interactive discussions where members of the association encouraged participants to adopt better driving habits, including showing patience and courtesy to fellow motorists. Mrs. Ogunjobi confirmed that ROSOWA remains dedicated to assisting the Federal Road Safety Corps in their mission to protect lives through consistent public education.
