Tragically, authorities in Valencia confirmed that a man, believed to be in his 70s, lost his life after being trapped in his vehicle during a fire in the Manises area. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez acknowledged the difficulty of the situation, noting that while weather conditions have slightly improved, the threat remains substantial.
France has deployed military personnel to assist firefighters by clearing terrain and establishing fire breaks. Approximately 200,000 people have been evacuated across the Gironde and Landes regions. The impact has been widespread, forcing organizers of the Tour de France to shorten the race’s final stage to allow security resources to be redirected toward firefighting efforts.
