PRP claims Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso seized 69 party nomination forms

The Peoples Redemption Party has accused Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of seizing 69 nomination forms, causing significant uncertainty for candidates in Kano.

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has charged Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), with the unauthorized acquisition of 69 political office nomination forms in Kano. This action has reportedly left many candidates in a state of confusion regarding their electoral participation.

Abdulkadir Musa Guza, the PRP State Chairman, explained during a Kano press conference that he discovered the forms had been purchased by someone else while attending a party retreat in Kaduna. Party leadership informed him that Kwankwaso was behind the purchase, citing ongoing discussions about his potential defection to the PRP.

However, Guza noted that no such defection occurred, leading the party to suspect that Kwankwaso intended to disrupt their operations. The PRP chairman criticized the move as a deceptive tactic, noting that holding forms for another party while remaining in a different organization is improper. The party is now considering legal measures to reclaim the documents before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline for candidate submissions, noting that similar issues are affecting other political organizations as well.
