The group, which included both teachers and pupils, had been abducted in the Oriire region of Oyo State. Following their release on Friday, Professor Alamu shared the intense emotional toll of the past eight weeks.

Reflecting on the ordeal, he noted that the return of the victims has finally brought an end to his prolonged suffering. He credited the successful outcome to the unified support of the Nigerian public, acknowledging the contributions of government leaders, the presidency, and citizens from various religious groups, including Muslims, Christians, and traditional practitioners.

Looking forward, Professor Alamu encouraged state officials to perform a detailed evaluation of this security failure. He emphasized the necessity of using this event as a catalyst to improve safety protocols for students and those residing in high-risk areas, hoping that such preventive measures will stop future kidnappings from occurring.
