President Bola Tinubu has shared his condolences regarding the death of veteran journalist and public relations leader, Oloye Lekan Alabi, who passed away in Lagos on Saturday at age 76. Serving as the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, Alabi was a respected figure within the traditional hierarchy of Ibadan.
Reflecting on his career, President Tinubu noted that Alabi was a dedicated public servant who served four different Oyo State governors as Press Secretary. Beyond his journalism and public relations work, he was widely regarded as a cultural advocate. He served as the Cultural Ambassador of the Source in Ile-Ife and maintained a close relationship with the Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.
The President extended his sympathies to the Alabi family, Senator Ladoja, and Governor Seyi Makinde. He offered prayers for the departed soul and wished the family comfort as they prepare for the burial, scheduled to follow Islamic traditions in Ibadan this Sunday.
