President Bola Tinubu has formally terminated the Presidential Implementation Committee (PIC) on the Alienation of Federal Government Properties. The President issued a stern warning to Bello Suleiman Dutsin-Ma, instructing him to stop representing himself as the committee’s secretary.
According to an announcement by presidential aide Bayo Onanuga, the dissolution took effect on November 5, 2025. President Tinubu has mandated that the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, assume oversight of all lingering committee affairs.
Established in 2000 under former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the PIC was originally tasked with managing the sale and leasing of government assets under the national monetisation policy. However, the government concluded that the committee had strayed from its initial objectives, leading to numerous legal disputes nationwide. Consequently, the administration determined that the body was no longer necessary, resulting in the immediate cessation of its operations and the directive for Dutsin-Ma to step down from all related government duties.
