News of the event broke on Thursday when Olusegun Dada, the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, posted footage of the ceremony. In the video, Shettima is seen meeting with Tinubu to accept the document. Dada utilized the occasion to refute rumors regarding potential instability in the pair’s partnership, stating that the Vice President’s role has remained secure throughout the administration.
This development signifies that the ruling party has finalized its selection process ahead of the filing requirements set by the Independent National Electoral Commission. The APC remains focused on the Tinubu-Shettima ticket as the party prepares its strategy for a second term.
