President Bola Tinubu has asserted that Nigeria is experiencing an economic turnaround and that security operations are yielding better outcomes due to increased cooperation between intelligence and military branches.
Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, shared these insights on Tuesday following a meeting in Abuja with the President and members of the National Communications Team. The delegation included leadership from various information outlets, such as the Nigerian Television Authority and the News Agency of Nigeria.
Idris noted that the session focused on evaluating public reception of government initiatives and refining the current communication strategy. The minister stated that the President emphasized the positive impact of his recent economic reforms, suggesting the country is now set for long-term development. Regarding national safety, Idris credited the President’s leadership for fostering improved synergy among agencies, which has helped address ongoing security difficulties.
Furthermore, the President reiterated his support for the freedom of the press but reminded journalists of the importance of accuracy. He specifically requested that the media partner with the government to mitigate the spread of false information, especially as automated tools become more prevalent in content creation.
