Security forces successfully liberated a 43-year-old woman and her toddler from a remote forest in Kwara State following an intense confrontation with captors. CSP Aniete Okokon Iniedu, the Force Public Relations Officer, confirmed the rescue in a Saturday report.
The operation was led by the Force Intelligence Department’s Intelligence Response Team alongside local security partners. Acting on specific intelligence, the team located the captives within a forest in the Bode Sadu region. When the kidnappers attempted to fight back, they were outmatched by police tactical maneuvers and ultimately retreated into the dense bush.
The victims, identified as Adijat Kuburat and her young son, Abdul Malik Hamzat, were safely recovered and moved to a medical facility for care. Authorities are currently pursuing the suspects to dismantle the kidnapping syndicate. Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu praised the officers for their bravery, reiterating the force’s dedication to eliminating violent crime through collaborative intelligence efforts.
