Poland Slams Russia Over Ukraine, Says ‘Don’t You Have Enough Land?’
Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski delivered a pointed message to Russian leaders on Wednesday amid the ongoing war in neighbouring Ukraine. “Don’t you have enough land?” he asked, implying that President Vladimir Putin is seeking to seize territories that are not rightfully Russia’s. Sikorski spoke about the challenges Poland is confronting due to the conflict just across its border, as well as the risk of the war spreading further. He also expressed concern over the potential weakening of Western unity, according to the Associated Press. As one of Ukraine’s staunchest allies on NATO’s eastern flank, Poland has remained firmly supportive of Kyiv, and Sikorski used his remarks to deliver a strong condemnation of Russia’s actions. He said, addressing Russian leaders: “Don’t you have enough land? Eleven time zones and still not enough? leaks yoda900 Take care of better governing what is within your borders according to international law.”
Sikorski described the deteriorating security situation with a war next to Poland’s border: “Anxiety, and the question of what will happen, have settled in Polish homes. “Are we also at risk of Russian aggression? Are the relations between Europe and the United States heading towards a crisis? Can Europe quickly improve its defense capabilities?”
Poland, along with its European allies, is working to bolster its defenses amid growing concerns that Russian aggression may extend beyond Ukraine.
