Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, recently shared the specific question he would pose if given the chance to speak with God. The former Anambra State governor admitted he often wonders why he was led away from a life of comfort and into the complexities of the political arena.
Speaking to his supporters, Obi credited his current position to divine favor. He explained that while he questions the circumstances that brought him into public service, he believes one must serve the public good regardless of where they are placed. He emphasized that he views his role as a responsibility not to be misused, whether in personal, corporate, or government capacities.
Obi has a long history of political transitions. He originally served as governor under the All Progressives Grand Alliance before joining the Peoples Democratic Party as a vice-presidential candidate. Following a move to the Labour Party for his 2023 presidential campaign, where he placed third, Obi is now preparing to pursue the Nigerian presidency in 2027 under the banner of the NDC.
