Pastor Chris Okafor Fails to Appear for Police Questioning Over Sexual Assault Claims
Chris Okafor, the Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, did not attend a scheduled police interrogation on Monday regarding allegations of multiple rapes and potential breaches of public peace.
The Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti had summoned the religious leader to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police at 10:00 a.m. following a mandate for a comprehensive probe by Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh.
Official sources at the SCID confirmed that Okafor was absent throughout the day despite the standing order.
However, reports indicate that the cleric’s representatives contacted the authorities to request an extension, offering assurances that he would present himself at a later date. The investigation into the claims of sexual misconduct remains ongoing as police await his arrival.
If Pastor Okafor continues to skip scheduled appointments at SCID Panti, the Commissioner of Police has the authority to apply for a court warrant for his arrest.
