Adedamola Adebayo, widely recognized as FRYO, has declared his support for Governor Ademola Adeleke in the upcoming August 15 Osun State gubernatorial election. Adebayo, who participated in the contentious Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary held in December 2025, revealed his stance during a media briefing in Osogbo this Wednesday.
Although Adebayo was absent from the final list of official candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission, he maintained that his choice was the result of thorough deliberation. He urged his supporters and PDP members to back Governor Adeleke, emphasizing that personal ambition should not overshadow the collective welfare of Osun residents.
Adebayo accepted full accountability for this shift in political allegiance, noting that it reflects his personal assessment of the state’s current landscape. While he remains appreciative of his former supporters, he called for a peaceful electoral process and warned against violence, hate speech, and division. He concluded by reminding citizens that the stability of the state is paramount, regardless of any individual political outcome.
