The Imole Campaign Council, representing Governor Ademola Adeleke, has expressed alarm regarding potential political unrest and harassment leading up to the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. In a recent statement, spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi requested that law enforcement authorities guarantee a fair and secure voting process.
The council claims that interactions with local voters indicate a strong opposition to the All Progressives Congress. Residents are reportedly frustrated by recurring intimidation and violence attributed to supporters of the opposition party. The campaign group insists that the electorate will ultimately reject any return to previous governance standards, contrasting this with the accomplishments of the current administration.
Under Governor Adeleke, the state has seen consistent salary payments, infrastructure updates, and revitalized public services. Consequently, the council has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police and the Department of State Services to safeguard the rights of citizens and maintain the credibility of the polls.
