Ola Aina Signs Three‑Year Contract Renewal at Nottingham Forest
Nigeria international Ola Aina has committed his future to Nottingham Forest by signing a new three-year contract, keeping him at the Premier League club until June 2028.
The 28-year-old full-back initially joined Forest in July 2023 on a one-year deal after his contract with Italian side Torino expired. He quickly made his mark, becoming a regular fixture at left-back as the team narrowly avoided relegation in his first season.
As reported by The Athletic on Sunday, Forest exercised a one-year extension clause in Aina’s contract in May 2024 after securing their top-flight status.
The new long-term deal underscores the club’s ongoing confidence in Aina’s reliability and adaptability on the pitch.
During the 2024–25 season, Ola Aina primarily featured on the right flank under head coach Nuno Espírito Santo, making 37 appearances across all competitions.
Ola Aina played a key role in Nottingham Forest’s seventh-place finish in the Premier League and their impressive run to the FA Cup semi-finals during the 2024–25 season.
He has made a total of 59 appearances for Forest, scoring three goals and providing two assists. His contract renewal follows extensions for teammates Neco Williams and centre-back Murillo, whose new deal runs until 2029. Head coach Nuno Espírito Santo also extended his stay with the club in June, signing a contract until 2028.
Aina is a product of Chelsea’s academy and made six senior appearances for the club before going out on loan to Hull City and Torino. He joined Torino permanently in 2019, making 113 appearances for the Serie A side, and later spent the 2020–21 season on loan at Fulham.
Born in London, Aina represented England at youth level before switching allegiance to Nigeria in 2017. He has since earned 40 caps for the Super Eagles.
