Ogun State Distributes Financial Relief to Windstorm Victims

The Ogun State Government has issued cash support to victims of a recent windstorm in the Imeko-Afon area to help residents recover from their losses.

The Ogun State Government has distributed cash grants to individuals impacted by the recent windstorm that severely damaged the Oke-Agbede community within the Imeko-Afon Local Government Area. This initiative aims to assist residents in their recovery efforts and mitigate the financial strain caused by the disaster.

Soji Durojaye, Director of the Ogun State Emergency Management Agency (OGSEMA), noted that this payment highlights Governor Dapo Abiodun’s dedication to assisting citizens during emergencies. Previously, the state worked with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to supply residents with roofing materials, food, and other essential items.

Durojaye emphasized that the cash assistance is designed to help victims rebuild their livelihoods following the event. He also encouraged the public to plant trees and maintain clean drainage systems to lessen the future impact of natural disasters. Representing the Imeko-Afon Local Government, Alhaji Jamiu Yinusa thanked both state and federal authorities for their swift response.

Traditional ruler Oba Adewale Olorode, the Alagbede of Agbede, praised the government for providing support that significantly reduced the hardship faced by the community. Beneficiaries, including Salau Titilayo and Abelewa Nojimu, expressed their gratitude for the aid provided by the administration.
