NSC and NFF Establish Welfare Committee for Super Falcons ahead of WAFCON 2026

The NSC and NFF have launched a welfare committee, led by Aisha Falode, to support the Super Falcons during the upcoming 2026 WAFCON in Morocco.

In preparation for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the National Sports Commission and the Nigeria Football Federation have formed a dedicated welfare committee for the Super Falcons. This group is tasked with ensuring the team experiences a seamless tournament run.

Aisha Falode, a member of the NFF executive board, will lead the committee as chairperson, with Ruth David acting as secretary. The remaining members include Margaret Icheen, Babagana Kalli, Emeka Iyama, Aderonke Tinuoye, and former Super Falcons media officer Tobechukwu Oluchi.

The Super Falcons are placed in Group C alongside Malawi, Zambia, and Egypt. Under head coach Justine Madugu, the team is scheduled to play their first match against Malawi on Tuesday, 28 July, at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. Morocco will host the tournament from 26 July through 16 August 2026, with the four semi-finalists earning spots in the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
