Political stakeholders from Nigeria’s North-East have officially backed President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, praising his administration’s infrastructure and security efforts while promising to secure the region for the APC.

Prominent figures from the North-East, including state governors, traditional rulers, and lawmakers, visited the Presidential Villa to formally endorse President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027. The delegation expressed their intent to rally the region behind the All Progressives Congress.

Led by Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, the group highlighted their satisfaction with the President’s decision to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima. Zulum emphasized that this choice reflects a commitment to rewarding competence and maintaining regional trust. The governor also credited the administration for progress in infrastructure, such as major road projects, as well as advancements in security and agriculture.

Ambassador Kingibe noted that the delegation consists of influential leaders capable of shaping public opinion and ensuring grassroots support for the government’s agenda. He stressed that their backing is rooted in the belief that the current administration serves the national interest.

President Tinubu welcomed the support, calling it a reassuring partnership. He used the occasion to highlight his administration’s focus on economic stability and national security. The President remarked that the government is actively fulfilling its promises to improve infrastructure in the North-East and is working to resolve long-standing issues, such as unpaid pension liabilities. He concluded by reiterating his dedication to long-term democratic stability and economic growth for the country.
