The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has declared its commitment to pursuing a comprehensive overhaul of the national minimum wage. NLC President Joe Ajaero shared this stance during a gathering of pensioners in Abuja.
Ajaero emphasized that current discussions regarding employee welfare must incorporate the needs of retired individuals who have finished their professional careers. He called upon both active workers and retirees to brace themselves for upcoming economic and ideological challenges.
During the event, Ajaero reaffirmed that the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) remains a valued partner of the NLC. He stated that the union views the well-being of pensioners as a core priority. As the organization prepares for a significant national campaign to adjust the minimum wage, Ajaero stressed that the interests of those who served the nation cannot be sidelined.
