The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI successfully executed a precise bombing mission against an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) encampment near the Southern Lake Chad basin in Borno State. Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the operation, which occurred late at night.
Intelligence gathered through surveillance missions identified heightened militant activity near Arenna, located in the Marte Local Government Area. Authorities initiated the strike at approximately 10:35 p.m. on July 23 after aerial monitoring observed around 50 motorcycles moving through the vicinity.
Military aircraft monitored the target before deploying precision weapons against a building used by the militants. A post-strike assessment confirmed that all insurgents within the structure were killed, alongside three others positioned outside. While three additional suspects were observed fleeing the scene, surveillance aircraft remained in the area to continue tracking their movements. This mission is part of a broader strategy by Operation HADIN KAI to neutralize terrorist strongholds and limit their operational mobility in the Lake Chad region.
