The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 1, is maintaining aggressive air campaigns against armed groups in the North West. These efforts involve precision raids on criminal sites alongside frequent surveillance and reconnaissance missions to assist joint security operations.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF spokesperson, stated that missions carried out on June 18 and 19, 2026, demonstrate the military’s dedication to curbing criminal activities in the region. Based on reliable intelligence, NAF jets targeted and damaged a primary terrorist base, significantly weakening their capacity to launch attacks.
In another engagement near Kidandan, military aircraft tracked and eliminated a group of terrorists after verifying their location. Subsequent flyovers in the Fatika and Sabuwa regions confirmed that those areas were clear, as aerial monitoring continues to support ground troops.
Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the Chief of the Air Staff, maintains that the impact of air power is maximized through close cooperation with ground units. The NAF remains committed to using intelligence-based tactics to safeguard civilians and restore stability in the North West.
