Security agents from the Department of State Services successfully freed Professor Samuel Okunsebor, a lecturer at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, after he was taken by armed individuals. The victim, who serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, was seized on Wednesday at Mile Uku, an area situated between the Lafia and Nasarawa Eggon local government zones.
Reports from security analyst Zagazola Makama indicate that the assailants invaded the neighborhood late Wednesday night. By 3:00 pm on Friday, intelligence-led efforts by the DSS allowed them to locate and extract the professor. He was later reunited with his family and university leadership, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor Kitso Ngbargu.
Following his release, Professor Okunsebor was transported to the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital for a comprehensive health assessment. This incident follows a similar kidnapping event in June, where three students from the Federal University of Lafia were seized from their home in Akunza.
