The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has officially blacklisted Onifam Laboratories Limited. This action also applies to its CEO, board members, and any connected entities due to serious regulatory infractions. The ban is immediate and forbids these parties from engaging in any pharmaceutical business overseen by NAFDAC.
Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director-General of NAFDAC, announced the decision on Monday. She noted that investigations revealed the company engaged in regulatory misrepresentation, the misuse of official certificates, and unauthorized product transfers. These actions were reportedly designed to bypass standard regulatory procedures, which compromises both product safety and public health.
The violations contradict the NAFDAC Act and specific 2021 registration regulations. Consequently, those blacklisted are prohibited from obtaining any permits or licenses from the agency. Furthermore, they are banned from working as manufacturers, distributors, or representatives for regulated products. This ban is indefinite, as NAFDAC maintains its authority to pursue further legal steps to protect the integrity of the national medical supply chain. The agency reiterated its firm stance on upholding pharmaceutical standards to ensure that only safe, high-quality products reach the public.
