A homemade explosive device triggered by a woman resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left 21 others wounded in Moscow, according to Russian security officials. The incident occurred near the city center on Kudrinskaya Square at approximately 20:00 local time.
The National Anti-Terrorist Committee reported that the woman attempted to gain entry to the restaurant but was confronted by a security guard. She then detonated the device, killing both the guard and a customer. Witnesses on social media described seeing injured people emerging from the establishment, which was reportedly holding a private event at the time.
While early accounts suggested the explosion took place in the kitchen, the restaurant later claimed the incident originated outside its premises. Law enforcement cordoned off the area and temporarily shut down local roads, forcing the cancellation of a nearby cycling event. Official footage showcased armed police securing the site shortly after the tragedy.
