Soldiers serving under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have successfully prevented a large-scale kidnapping attempt and secured the release of 27 individuals across Sokoto and Zamfara states. Security analyst Bakatsine reported the details on X this Wednesday, noting that these missions took place over a two-day period as part of a broader campaign against regional insecurity.
The military intervened promptly on the Gummi–Sokoto highway after receiving word of an imminent attack. The ensuing firefight compelled the suspected criminals to abandon their plans and escape. In addition to stopping this incident, the personnel located 27 people who had been taken in earlier, unrelated kidnappings. All of these individuals have returned to their homes.
During the sweep of the area, the troops seized various motorcycles and livestock left behind by the gunmen. Bakatsine commended the military units for their bravery and professional dedication to ensuring regional safety.
