Soldiers from the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), successfully detained four individuals suspected of collaborating with Boko Haram and ISWAP in Yobe and Borno states. These arrests occurred during targeted missions aimed at weakening terrorist infrastructure.
Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Media Information Officer, confirmed that on August 3, 2026, the 159 Battalion executed a search operation in Geidam, Yobe State. This led to the capture of two suspects found with narcotics, mobile devices, and various logistical supplies intended for insurgents. Concurrently, troops in Monguno, Borno State, apprehended two additional suspects accused of transporting food and goods to ISWAP fighters. Numerous supplies, including food items and personal effects, were seized during this mission.
Furthermore, military personnel from the 222 Battalion intercepted 20 individuals while patrolling the Gezuwa area in Konduga, Borno State. These people, identified as relatives of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) terrorists, were fleeing their base due to heavy military operations. The group consisted of 11 adults and 9 minors. All detainees and confiscated materials have been turned over to military intelligence units for evaluation and additional legal processing.
Operation Hadin Kai remains committed to cutting off supply lines for extremist groups. The military continues to urge the public to share intelligence that supports the restoration of peace in the North East region.
