Manchester City Secure Rulli Following Manchester United Departure

Manchester City signs Geronimo Rulli from Marseille as a backup goalkeeper, while Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek completes a permanent move to Middlesbrough.

Manchester City has finalized a £1.7 million agreement to acquire Marseille goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli. The 34-year-old, formerly of Villarreal, is set to sign a two-year contract with the club. He will serve as the primary backup to Gianluigi Donnarumma during the upcoming campaign, filling the void left by James Trafford following his record-breaking £40 million transfer to Leeds United.

Simultaneously, Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek has finalized a permanent transfer to Middlesbrough. The deal is valued at approximately £14 million, consisting of a £7 million upfront payment and an additional £7 million in potential bonuses. Manchester United has retained a buy-back clause and a 35 percent sell-on provision. Vitek, who previously spent time on loan at Bristol City, departs Old Trafford to continue his career in the Championship.
