A man was successfully pulled from a broken elevator in a three-story building on Freeman Street, Zapass, within the Lagos Island East LCDA this past Tuesday. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service reported that they were alerted to the situation at 11:50 a.m., which led to a rapid response from the Ebute Elefun Fire Station.
Emergency crews reached the location just five minutes later and began their work immediately. The individual inside the lift was retrieved safely and without any physical harm. Initial investigations suggest that the elevator failed due to an unexpected mechanical issue.
Margaret Adeseye, who leads the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed that the operation concluded with no injuries or deaths. The department continues to prioritize quick emergency responses to protect the public throughout the state.
