AC Milan confirmed on Thursday that Luka Modric has signed a one-year contract extension. The experienced Croatian midfielder, who will reach his 41st birthday in under two months, is now tied to the Serie A club until June 30, 2027.
Modric arrived at the Italian side in 2025 and recorded two goals across 37 appearances last season. In an official release, the club praised the veteran as a world-class icon who will remain a part of the Rossoneri squad. His illustrious career includes six Champions League titles with Real Madrid and a 2018 Ballon d’Or.
During the recent World Cup, Modric captained Croatia to the round of 32, where they were eliminated by Portugal. AC Milan, coming off a fifth-place league finish, has appointed Ruben Amorim as manager to replace Massimiliano Allegri. The club has also bolstered its roster with the acquisitions of forward Goncalo Ramos for 70 million euros and defender Mario Gila for 30 million euros.
