Lobi Stars reschedule 2026/27 NNL season start

Lobi Stars have delayed the start of their 2026-27 NNL pre-season training to June 28, allowing the coaching staff more time to finalize preparations.

The Lobi Stars management has officially pushed back the start of their 2026-27 Nigeria National League (NNL) preparations. While the team and staff were originally expected to report for pre-season training today, they are now scheduled to gather at camp on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

According to the Makurdi-based club, formal practice sessions are set to commence on Monday, June 29. This delay provides the coaching staff extra time to solidify logistical arrangements and training strategies before the players resume physical work.

The Pride of Benue are eager to bounce back following a disappointing previous season where they failed to secure promotion to the NPFL due to poor consistency. Beyond the senior team, the club is actively hosting a talent hunt throughout Benue State to identify promising young prospects for their youth setup and future senior squad additions.
