Liverpool have declined an approach to acquire Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior, leaving the path open for Arsenal to potentially sign him. The Brazilian, who has one year left on his current deal, could move for free next summer, prompting interest from the Gunners.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho’s side has begun talks for Yan Diomande, but RB Leipzig dismissed an opening bid of €100 million. Liverpool also saw a similar €100 million offer for the player rejected earlier in the window, with the German club holding out for €120 million.
TalkSPORT reports that while Liverpool were offered the chance to sign Vinicius Jr, they opted against it. The club is reportedly prioritizing the right wing to replace Mohamed Salah. Despite a stellar campaign with 22 goals and 14 assists, Vinicius Jr finished the season trophy-less with Madrid. He is currently on break following Brazil’s exit from the World Cup, where he contributed four goals.
Separately, Real Madrid are pursuing Manchester City midfielder Rodri. The 30-year-old Spaniard, who recently helped his country win the World Cup final against Argentina, is reportedly interested in a return to Spain.
