African Democratic Congress stalwart Kenneth Okonkwo has criticized the National Assembly for failing to question President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) leader, Adeniyi Adeyemi, regarding the recent scandal. Okonkwo argued that wrapping up the probe without hearing from these primary individuals undermines the integrity of the legislative process.
In a social media statement, the former actor described the investigation as a mockery of justice, asserting that any findings reached without their testimony would be invalid. He challenged the claim made by Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu that a court order prevented Adeyemi from testifying. According to Okonkwo, the legislature holds constitutional authority that should not be superseded by lower court rulings.
Okonkwo further questioned why Gbajabiamila was not summoned, as he remains at liberty and lacks any legal barrier preventing his appearance. He concluded by urging citizens to utilize the 2027 election to address what he views as a systemic failure by current lawmakers.
